Good grief! I would have to go back and look at my calendar to see all the places we've been since my last post. I can't even remember them all. The work continues to keep us on the run. We are not complaining about that! In fact, Big Red turned over 800,000 miles recently. One trip had us leaving Long Beach, California on a Tuesday around noon and we were to deliver it in Erie, Pennsylvania on Thursday. The shipper asked us if that was even possible to do. When I called the consignee - that's the people we were going to deliver to- and told them we were in LA traffic but we'd be up there on Thursday, we got the same reaction. The guy said he couldn't believe that could be done. I told him we'd keep in contact with him in case anything changed. The same time on the next day, I made another phone call to update him. We had just passed thru Oklahoma City. Thoroughly impressed that we'd come so far, he still wasn't sure we'd be in Pennsylvania the next morning. I assured him we would be. Sure enough, he came out to speak with us when we rolled into their parking lot the next morning. He had no idea freight traveled that quickly across the country! We left there only to make another delivery in New Jersey the following morning. So back and forth, to and fro from coast to coast, and border to border. We've been in and out of Oklahoma City several times but thankfully we were nearly 200 miles away the day the tornados hit. Some days it feels like work but we still enjoy the lifestyle, especially visiting friends and family along the way when we can. This week we did a run from Richmond, Virginia over to central California where we are today. We'll make our delivery in the morning and then get a loaded shipping container from the port in Long Beach, California again. It will be our job to pull it over to Jacksonville, Florida. Like I said... We are people on the move!
