Well, back to work for us this week. Enough sitting around and we had to make up for lost time. Just as soon as we received the green light from Mercer that we were good to go again, we drove about 70 miles north to Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh, Indiana. There we picked up a couple big army vehicles and carted them down to West Palm Beach, Florida. We got out of there in time to miss the coming hurricane and picked up a load of Kubota lawnmowers and equipment in Georgia that would keep us busy for a few days. We dropped off part of them in dusty old Lubbock, Texas the next day. The rest we took to a dealership in Fresno, California.
That was quite an easy run and the weather wasn't too bad for August. I can feel fall around the corner and we figured now is the time to run hard while the weather is still decent. It won't be long til we start seeing some fall colors around the country. We stopped one morning for breakfast in Winslow, Arizona and it was so cool that we actually had to grab our jackets. It's almost time to swap our wardrobe out for another change of seasons.
Our coordinator has already got our work cut out for us next week. After making our delivery this morning in Fresno, we drove down to southern California. Tomorrow morning we'll pick up our next load, ironically something airline related for Spirit Airlines, in the LA area and then off to deliver it in Wichita, Kansas the next day. We'll really have to fly down the road to meet the deadline for that one. Two other loads are already lined up for us after we're done with that. Next week we'll see Topeka, Houston, Dayton, Scranton, and all towns in-between.
