These past couple weeks have been a blur as we did several runs back to back. We told our dispatcher to keep us moving and he did. Houston to LA - LA back to New Orleans - Gulfport, Mississippi to Indian Springs, NV (just north of Las Vegas) - and now we're pulling a load we picked up in Las Vegas and will deliver in New Jersey in a couple days. We're pretty exhausted but all the repairs are paid for... for now.
It was good to get by the house and pick up a huge stack of mail while we were in Las Vegas. There is always something in there that needs my attention or requires an errand to be run - especially when we haven't been there for a few months. I think it was February when we left there last time. We even got to spend a little time with Emma as she and I hit the pool. Las Vegas was having their first triple-digit temps the day we got there and the pool felt good for this road-weary truck driver!
We're enroute to Edison, New Jersey today. We had plenty of time so we have taken the US highways from Colorado just for a change of scenery. It didn't matter in Kansas. It was one wheat field after another. Same story in Illinois only it was corn fields there. We did see something we've never seen before on this trip though. In Colorado as we were coming down the mountains into Denver, a big herd of moose decided to cross the interstate just in front of us. Thankfully everyone was able to stop in time so nobody hit any of them but I counted four and Jorge said he saw a bunch of them waiting on the other side. We were so fascinated and excited to see them we couldn't get the camera out in time to get a picture of them though.
Here are a some pictures from the past couple weeks. With all the driving we've done, I did a poor job of keeping this blog updated. We don't know yet where our next trip will take us but we're working our way down to Florida for a few days off at the beach with friends the first week of June. After all these miles we've covered, we're sure looking forward to a little R&R and fun in the sun.
