It’s been a week of work for us. Once we hit the road in Texas, it was clear of ice and we had to really hammer down to get to Costa Mesa, California on time. We did arrive with a little time to spare but then it was right back on the road to Pennsylvania with the show called ‘Hair’. We had pretty much all week to get it there but being weather conscious truck drivers, we saw the prediction of snow in Texas and Oklahoma and we were not about to do that again this week. So again we hot-tailed it thru there and delivered in Pittsburgh on Wednesday without seeing one flake of snow – and staying one day ahead of the foot of snow that eventually came to that area.
While we were checking the map to our next destination, we noticed we had no heat blowing in the truck sleeper. After checking around to diagnose the problem, Jorge boiled it down to a control panel issue. We had several days to get to our next destination in East Lansing, Michigan but we couldn’t find anyone who would work on our truck for us along the way. We figured we’d just take it back to Shipshewana, Indiana where the truck was built – knowing they’d take care of us there. We were at their shop bright and early the next morning and they got us fixed up right away. Good thing too because it was extremely cold in this part of the country for a couple days this week. We were warm and toasty in our home on wheels.
One other thing we did this week –on our way through Toledo, Ohio we had the privilege of sharing a pizza and beer with my Uncle Milt to celebrate his 75th birthday. It was good to see him if only for a couple hours.
I’ve made a serious dent in the work on my taxes this week too. I think by this week’s end, it could be out of my hands and on the way to the CPA. That will be a load off my mind. It’s shocking to see how much is spent on various things as I add up the numbers. Who can guess how much we spent in just fuel last year? If you said $52,000, you’d be close. Can you believe that?
Tonight we are loading up ‘Shrek’ and will be in Hartford, Connecticut tomorrow afternoon. This time next week, we’ll be in Tampa, Florida. Warm weather, here we come!

I guess I was just too busy taking turns driving and sleeping this week to take many pictures. I only have this one of Rocky snuggled in his bed enduring the freezing cold temps we suffered thru this week. He covered many a mile this way.
