Missing out on another blizzard in the north, we moved over to Houston this week. We were supposed to go to Madison, Wisconsin next – which would have been real interesting in light of all the breaking news going on at the Capitol building there. Our schedule was changed to Baltimore instead so that’s where we are headed now, passing thru Knoxville, Tennessee as I write. We are bobtailing over 1400 miles to pick up ‘Jersey Boys’ there and take it to Miami, Florida. We’re so grateful to be staying in the south although it’s awfully hard to switch gears between seasons so quickly. One day I’m wearing jeans and sweatshirts and the next day I’m digging deep into my closet for summer clothes. Looking at our schedule over the next couple weeks has us going cross country but still staying south so hopefully that doesn’t change.
We are also watching fuel prices skyrocket with the price of oil rising daily. It’s funny how the prices rise immediately but it can take days to notice a difference when the price of oil falls. We don’t run the tanks dry but if we did it would cost between $900-$1000 to fill up these days. That would take us over two thousand miles or more, depending on if we are pulling a trailer or not. The cost of doing business is going up for sure.
Here are a few pictures I took along the way over the past week or so.
