I always say that this job does have its perks though. Obviously getting my mail quickly is not one of them. However, we are lucky enough to have family and friends scattered around the country. While in Florida, we spent an afternoon with my sister Linda and enjoyed lunch at a Cuban restaurant with her in Sarasota. A couple days later, as I said before, I was able to spend a little time with my uncle in Toledo. Then yesterday, we spent several hours getting reacquainted with my high school friend, Diahann and her husband Glenn. We enjoyed our visit to their nearly century old farm house near Watertown, Wisconsin. I can’t remember the last time our paths crossed but it had been many years and way too long. (Why didn’t we take any pictures, Di?) Suffice it to say, neither of us has hardly changed a bit and we’re still as youthful as we always were. I can say that since there are no pictures to prove otherwise! But what a blessing it is to have the opportunity to travel this great big country of ours and having the chance to make stops like this along the way is just icing on the cake!
Tonight we are in Madison, Wisconsin picking up Mamma Mia. We’ll be taking this show down to Fort Worth, Texas and will deliver it on Tuesday morning. Then we’re off to the Los Angeles area and hopefully back into the warm temps, if only for a little while. That gets us successfully thru another January. Two more months of winter driving to go!
