We were able to make another stop at our storage trailer this week as we passed thru Ohio. We were able to retire our tire chains for the season and said another prayer of thanks for never having had to use them this past winter season. Without the chains onboard, Jorge was able to squeeze our charcoal grill in their place. We plan on getting plenty of use from that the next few months. We decided we’ve seen enough of the interstate so we took the backroads all the way from Cincinnati to Madison, Wisconsin. Relying on a GPS is usually good thing but somehow we managed to cover everything from downtowns, to narrow country roads, and even a neighborhood subdivision as we meandered our way north. It’s entertaining for us to see the little towns along the way.
Here it was mid-May and we were still using our heavy blankets this week. Thankfully we had the good sense to keep those in the truck. We made the trip from Madison to Nashville and though we missed the rain storms in the mid-west, we did drive thru temps in the 30’s. We spent a day or so in Nashville including a brief visit with my mom and her new husband, Joe. It was even chilly there for this time of the year. Tonight we are at the opposite spectrum, putting the a/c to hard work here in Orlando. This weekend we are picking up ‘Shrek’ and taking it over to New Orleans. The sooner we get there, the sooner we can begin our vacation as we take a few days off in south Texas this coming week. We’re going to visit Jorge’s family in Brownsville, Texas which will include a family wedding. Plus we plan to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary in South Padre Island. So it will be a good week ahead and we’re looking forward to it.

The Ohio River was raging and way out of it's banks as we crossed from Illinois to Kentucky. We saw alot of flooding and homes that had made the effort to sandbag around them.
It was home improvement week. Check out our new fenders we had installed on the back tires on our way to Orlando. These will keep the back of the truck much cleaner.
Just because we live in our truck doesn't mean we can't grow a flower garden. Here's our geranium in bloom on the windown sill.
