Well, it happened today. We bought our first fuel for $4.00 a gallon. We weren’t even on empty yet but it was still $800 to top off the tanks. How high will it go this time, I wonder? We could help ourselves and slow down even more to improve our fuel mileage although this truck gets way better mileage than our last truck did. That doesn’t make it feel any better when you’re paying for it though. No wonder the price of food and just about everything is going up. You gotta pay the truck drivers!
Yesterday we did our little trailer shuffle between Louisville and Columbus - twice. The cities are only 200 miles apart and it wasn’t a hard job but I’m glad to have it behind us. The best part of the trip was when we were on our way back to get our second trailer in Louisville. We were headed south on I-71 at the same time my daughter, Mandy, was headed north to her house in Lebanon, Ohio. We met at her exit and went out to visit her and her husband, Orville for a bit. Rocky was sooo excited to visit his nephews, Hank and Elvis. The visit was short and sweet with good food and good company, but we had to eat and run. It was time to get the show on the road.
Once we finished with that work, we had to drive over to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to pick up a trailer that needs to be in Miami, Florida by Friday morning. So we’re on a mission to get it down there as quickly as possible and stopped for the night in Richmond, Virginia. It’s funny that up until a couple weeks ago, we’d never been to the Miami theater. Now here we are on our second trip there in as many weeks and I see two more stops on our schedule down there over the next couple weeks. I'll take them but why can’t they send us there in January??
